Builder By The Sea can help you choose the best products to use on the exterior of your new home or for a beautiful accent wall. Here are a few of your options:
Brick and block:
There are countless choices of size, color and texture to choose from. Brick is one of the more costly exteriors, but is almost zero-maintenance, extremely durable and looks beautiful on a house. It can be used for the entire exterior, but many of our customers have used brick as an accent on a wall or foundation.
Vinyl, Wood, and Fiber Cement:
Over the past few years, the selection, styles and options for vinyl siding have increased dramatically. Some come with built-in insulated backing, increasing its durability as well as the energy efficiency of your home. Decorative styles such as a cedar shake look or scallops can give an impressive appearance to your home, especially when used as an accent. Vinyl siding can be very cost-effective with little maintenance required.
Wood siding such as cedar is quite beautiful and popular. However, be prepared for a fair amount of maintenance. For it to stay beautiful, it will need to be repainted or stained every few years.
Fiber cement siding such as Hardiplank is quite popular. It is durable and holds paint much better than wood siding, but will occasionally need repainting.
Stucco and Cultured Stone:
Stucco is a durable and beautiful exterior that offers several finish textures and works well for the entire home or an accent. It’s cost is roughly the same as brick. Cultured Stone is more costly, but when used as an accent, it can be one of the most elegant and impressive exteriors available.
